Commercial Insurance Group’s Longstanding Focus on Innovation

It all started when we tried to fix a broken system. Emails back and forth and the shuffling of all those paper applications wasted a great deal of time. Our vision at Commercial Insurance Group (CIG) was to handle everything in one easy to use portal. With that, CIG, along with our retail business, Strategic Insurance Agency, created Bigfoot Insurance, our online platform that serves as a conduit between underwriters and agents shopping hard-to-place risks.

Bigfoot now serves over 10,000 agents across the country! We specialize in hard to place homeowners insurance and commercial property insurance. Other specialty programs include: short term rental products, storage contents, renters insurance, general liability, commercial property, California homeowners, inland marine and commercial package coverages.

Additionally, the online platform has expanded into coverage for short-term and temporary employees, as well as independent contractors for one or a variety of employers. The platform also allows agents to quote, bind and issue policies for stationary homes, small homes on wheels or sleds, container homes and other small dwellings.
With that as a backdrop, I felt it was important to join a larger, rapidly growing organization to further support our agents, providing access to a more expansive product and carrier suite. One80’s entrepreneurial culture was a perfect fit for the team at CIG. I was impressed with One80’s expansion plan and desire to grow and focus on innovation.

Together I am confident that we can build upon the existing programs available through Commercial Insurance Group, Strategic Insurance Agency and Bigfoot. I look forward to harnessing the strength of One80 to offer additional, expansive coverages to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
