Matt Roper │ Marine Practice Leader
Matt is One80’s Marine Practice Leader where he is responsible for Recreational Marine, Inland Marine and Ocean Marine offerings. Prior to his appointment to this role, he served as the Recreational Marine Manager for Maritime Program Group, a division of One80 since 2017.
Matt began his career in the insurance industry in 2009 as an Inland Marine Underwriter with Acadia Insurance (a W.R. Berkley Company). In 2010, he moved to Syracuse, NY where his underwriting book expanded to include a portfolio of Recreational Marine accounts. In 2012 Matt joined Chubb Custom Markets (now Chubb, Ltd.) as a Recreational Marine Underwriter. In his first two years, he was awarded Chubb’s Circle of Sales Excellence, promoted to Senior Underwriter, and attained his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Marine Insurance Management designations.
Matt graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts (2005) and Master of Arts (2008) in History.
